Situated at 2 Chome-16-1 Shinbashi, Minato City, inside the New Shinbashi Building, this restaurant offers a wide range of dishes that capture the essence of Japanese comfort food. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a regular, the atmosphere at Katsuya is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for both quick lunches and casual dinners.

One of the standout features of Katsuya is its rich history and dedication to quality. Established years ago, this restaurant has evolved with the times, constantly updating its menu to cater to changing tastes while remaining true to its roots. The restaurant has earned a reputation for its dedication to serving flavorful, high-quality food that doesn’t compromise on authenticity. It’s no wonder that Katsuya has earned numerous positive reviews from both locals and tourists alike.

When it comes to the menu, Katsuya specializes in katsu, a popular Japanese dish where breaded and deep-fried meat is served with rice, miso soup, and shredded cabbage. However, the variety doesn’t end there. The restaurant also offers a selection of donburi bowls, noodle dishes, and sushi options that cater to every palate. The deep-fried pork cutlet, or "tonkatsu," is often cited as a favorite, with the crisp golden exterior and tender, juicy meat inside. The crunch of the breading is perfectly balanced by the soft, flavorful pork, making each bite irresistible.

For those who prefer something lighter, the Katsuya menu offers a range of vegetable and seafood options as well. The seafood katsu, made with fresh shrimp or fish, is equally delicious and showcases the restaurant’s commitment to quality ingredients. No matter what you order, the portions are generous, and the food is always served piping hot, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience every time.

But Katsuya isn’t just about food-it’s about the experience. The restaurant’s design is sleek yet cozy, providing the perfect environment to unwind after a long day. The staff is attentive and always ready to offer recommendations or explain the menu in detail. This level of service further enhances the dining experience and contributes to the restaurant’s positive reputation. Whether you’re seated at one of the tables or at the counter, you’ll feel comfortable and well taken care of during your visit.

Location is key when it comes to dining in Tokyo, and Katsuya couldn’t be more conveniently situated. The restaurant is located in a bustling part of Minato City, easily accessible for those traveling from other parts of Tokyo. It’s just a short walk from the nearest subway stations, making it an ideal spot for a quick bite during a busy workday or a relaxed evening meal. Whether you’re in the area for business or pleasure, Katsuya is a must-visit destination.

Customer feedback is overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the restaurant’s consistency in delivering delicious and satisfying meals. The reviews highlight the speed of service, the warmth of the staff, and the high standard of food as reasons for returning. Guests often mention that they enjoy the casual, no-fuss approach to dining, which allows them to focus on enjoying the food without any unnecessary distractions. It’s clear that Katsuya has earned a loyal following, and it’s easy to see why.

Overall, Katsuya offers more than just a meal-it provides an experience that is quintessentially Japanese. • Economical “Tonkatsu” (a Japanese dish which consists of breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet) restaurant. Located at the 1st floor of New Shinbashi Building in from of Shinbashi Station. This restaurant is mainly for a solo diner or up to 2-3 persons. All the menus have a picture and easy to select. The budget is approx. JPY700-1,500. Payment is cash, credit cards (Amex not acceptable), e-money. Enjoy!

  • Fantastic cheap breakfast next to train! Not greasy and oily! Fast too! Has English menu but the Japanese menu has photos easier to order! Portions are big!

  • Great consistent no-frills katsu. It’s cheap, good, and very convenient. My go to is the sauce katsudon set with the pork miso soup and onsen egg.

  • If you want anything with katsu, this is a good place. Been here twice and gotten one of the katsudon bowls both times. Exactly what I wanted. Relatively crowded but consider the location. No worse than any other spot around.
